Artist Biography

Luana Sallustio | Contemporary Figurative Artist | Zurich, Switzerland
Luana Sallustio is a 23-year-old contemporary artist based in Zurich, Switzerland, with Italian roots. Her work moves between realism and abstraction, exploring emotions, personal experiences and the beauty of everyday moments through expressive brushstrokes, colour and light.
Creativity has always been part of her life. What started with childhood drawings and detailed pencil portraits gradually evolved into a passion for painting. Today, oil on canvas is her primary medium, allowing her to experiment with textures, movement and the endless possibilities of colour. While her technique continues to evolve, her approach remains spontaneous, intuitive and deeply personal.
Inspired by everything from human connections and memories to music and sunsets, Luana creates paintings that go beyond simply representing what we see. Her figurative works often reflect her own thoughts, feelings and experiences, blending realistic details with abstract elements and dreamlike atmospheres. Rather than striving for perfection, she embraces imperfections, unexpected changes and the freedom of the creative process.
Alongside her more personal work, Luana enjoys painting cultural icons and creating commissioned artworks. These pieces allow her to explore a different side of her creativity, focusing on technique, colour and the simple joy of painting.
Her artistic journey has taken her beyond Switzerland, with works exhibited internationally in cities including Paris, Miami, Milan, Monaco, Dubai and Tokyo. Through exhibitions, collaborations and her growing creative community, she continues to explore new directions and challenge herself as an artist.
Beyond the canvas, Luana also works in UI/UX design, bringing her creativity into digital experiences and visual communication.
At the heart of her work is a simple idea: art doesn't always need an explanation. Sometimes it's about a feeling, a memory, or simply something beautiful that makes you stop and look a little longer.
